This website has been developed by Gerry Moore MA, a
history teacher in Glenties Comprehensive School in Co. Donegal.
Gerry Moore has been teaching History since 1988. He has
taught in OLA School, Bronx, New York City, St. Mark's Community School in
Tallaght and in Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin.
He is a Subject Matter Expert for Junior Certificate
History for the educational website skoool.ie. He has also worked as an SME
for the Department of Education website scoilnet.ie. and has contributed to
the development of the Resource Finder for the new Leaving Cert History
course. He has contributed to articles on the revised Leaving Certificate
for the Irish Times newspaper and has also reviewed the Junior Cert and
Leaving Cert exams for the Irish Times (June 2004 and 2005)
His own particular areas of historical interest are the
role of Irish soldiers in the First World war and the Irish emigrant
experience in the USA.
